Mt Rainier National Park
Wonderland Trail
Klapatche Park Camp
to
Pyramid Creek Camp
The trail, from Klapatche to Pyramid Creek, traverses the toe of Tahoma Glacier. A suspension bridge spans turbulent Tahoma Creek, essential for a safe crossing, right. The bridge sways, so crossing with a heavy pack requires slow, measured steps. The oldest ranger cabin, built in 1915, stands at Indian Henry's Hunting Ground, above. It, and all other original cabins are still used. Mirror Lakes, left, are the reward for hiking to the northeast end of the hunting ground trail. Tahoma Glacier runs off Mt Rainier's west face beyond its lake copy.
