Lewis Falls and River
The falls come roaring out of the forest near the South Entrance Road not far below Lewis Lake. Lewis River, top and right, starts in Shoshone Lake, runs through Lewis Lake, over the falls, and on south to merge with the Yellowstone River. The Yellowstone caldera's south rim crosses the road near the falls. Lewis Falls wasn't formed by the rim like Gibbon Falls.
