Cadillac Mountain, Sand Beach sits in a slot on the southeast coast
of Mount Desert Island, top left. Rocks piled around the base of a
guidepost, above, attest to strong winds during severe winter weather.
Bluberries, right, are just starting to turn their namesake color.
Top right is a good example of Cadillac Mountain granite, noted for
it's pink feldspar color. |
