Big Bend
Hikers must pass Carter Peak, top right, on the way to the Window. A split in a background rock provides the scene with the desert beyond. The floor, polished smooth by water provides no sure footing. At right, water etches ditches through the Window into a hole and out to a steep drop; flowing from left to right .
