There
are two entrances to the park; North and South. Coming from California,
I used the south one: Annie Spring Entrance Station. It's accessed
from US HWY. 97 and OR HWY. 62, north of Klamath Falls, Oregon. Mazama
Village at this entrance has a restaurand, store, cabins and the major
campground in the park. A turnout with an interpretive sign appears
on the right side of HWY. 62, about a half mile south of the entrance
station. It's a good place to get a quick lesson about the volcanic
activity that created this majestic park. The sign sequence is; top
right, bottom left, bottom center. The morning sun hadn't penetrated
into Godfrey Glen and the pinnacles in the photo, top left. You can
get a closer look at Godfrey Glen from a one mile loop trail in the
park. |
