The crest of Mount Scott provides the highest vantage point in the park (8929 feet). Wizard Island, Watchman and Hillman Peak are to the west, top right. Mount Thielsen stands like a compass needle to the north, above. Gnarled whitebark pine trees cling to the peak. Wildflowers manage a burst of color during the brief growing season. The purple ones were hunkered down next to the east foundation of the fire lookout.
