McKittrick Canyon Trail
The McKittrick Canyon trailhead is accessed by driving northeast from the Pine Springs Visitor Center. Go approximately 7 miles northeast on US HWY 62 and 180. Turn left at the McKittrick Canyon sign, and drive about 4 miles to the trailhead. In early spring the trees still wear the last of their fall leaves. Yucca plants seem to be the most intrusive desert denizen migrating to the forest. Local rocks were used to construct the main gate to the Pratt Cabin - 2.4 miles from the trailhead.
