unique CWS trek began at the Pine Creek trailhead, north of Bishop
CA. The goal; top of 13,652ft Mt Tom. Gable Lakes Trail takes you
a few miles, then it's southeast, off trail to the peak. Mt Tom rises
bold and bare, to the northwest from US HWY 395, south of Bishop to
the climb to 7000ft Sherwin Summit at Toms Place, several miles north
of Bishop. Sonny Boy Prospect mine sits at 10,000ft on the mountain's
south side. It was part of the Pine Creek tungsten operation with
