Driving south on Park Boulevard, from the West entrance, the Ryan
Ranch trailhead appears shortly after the road curves east. The
half mile trail (one mile round trip) is the old ranch road, making
for an easy trek. The natural adobe ruins seem to be blending back
into the landscape. I believe this site holds the only original
adobe structures in Joshua Tree National Park. An interpretive sign
at the trailhead explains the ranch's history. The official name
of historical site: "Ryan House and Lost Horse Well."
