Joshua National Park
Cottonwood Spring
Cottonwood Spring is about a mile past Cottonwood Visitor Center on the campground road. A short walk takes you to the tall fan palms and cottonwood trees surrounding the spring, top right. In mid-December the cottonwoods are cloaked in fall yellow induced by the mild Colorado Desert climate. The spring is hidden from view somewhere amid the palm trunks, above. This oasis requires the shortest walk of the four with trails in the park.
