This
group of fan palms are first to greet hikers at the end of the trail.
A level area beneath them provides enough shade to relax and study
them closely. The blackened trunks, above, and right, resulted from
past fires through the area. The unscorched fronds indicate that this
fire was not intense or was far enough in the past that the fronds
renewed their growth cycle. |
