Little Bear Lake, top right, sits at 6800ft, a short climb above Big Bear Lake. I decided to climb the trail as it rose above the lake to look over the area I'd just passed through. The burn area stands out in stark relief from the surviving trees. Big Bear Lake lies below, right, and top left. A deer still finds forage on the trail.
