Lassen National Park West
Kings Creek Falls
One of the two spectacular falls (see page 2) to be seen by hiking a little more than a mile from the trailhead, this 30 ft falls is worth the hike. I have backpacked to it from the east several times. The color photos are from those treks. These images are scanned 35mm slides. I hiked down from the trailhead 3mi. round trip) for the black and white versions. I had to carry a heavy tripod - not a realistic item for me to carry on an extended backpack trip. The black and white photo on page 2 is a scanned darkroom print from a 6x7cm negative. The bottom right image is a smaller version. A larger version appears on the next page. The images on the previous two pages were recorded with a digital camera on a 3 day, round trip backpack jaunt, October 9-11, 2016. Days were crisp and clear. Nights were a bit chilly with a coat of frost each morning.
