A
great trail with outstanding views right from the trailhead, top right.
The scenes along the trail vary from broad vistas to intricate details
of water running off rocks. The trail is purposely graded to make
a relatively easy hike to Cascade Pass. North Cascades National Park
is the other side of a rare coin: On one side; Ross Lake National
Recreation Area and the Skagit Hydroelectric Project; on the otherside:
vertical granite, snow and ice swaths, intertwined with flora and
fauna of the national park. |
