Walput Lake

This lake in Gifford Pinchot National Forest, south of MT Rainier National Park, abounds in floral growth from spring into summer. Clockwise from top left: western trillium; The blossom starts out white and turns purple as it ages; vanilla-leaf with its white spikes; a rather dull looking crimson columbine; and bunchberry, from the dogwood family.
