Orla lies at a crossroad where US Highway 265 and County Road 652 intersect. Orla is 38 miles northwest of Pecos, Texas on Highway 265, and 47 miles southeast of Carlsbad, New Mexico. A few inhabited buildings cluster around the junction, but three abandoned buildings line the east side of Highway 265; one gas station north of County Road 652, and a house and another gas station south of that road. These windows belong to this house and second gas station.
