Nez
Perce Ford is just north of LeHardys Rapids. You have easy access
to the Yellowstone River with picnic tables. You also can envision
the Nez Perce Indians filing across this shallow crossing in 1877.
They were fleeing to Canada after several skirmishes with the US Army.
They had refused to give up their land in Oregon resulting in conflicts
with white settlers. Photos are from digital raw files. |
