Geyser Country - Biscuit Basin
Sapphire Pool, top and bottom right and Opalescent Pool, above, show why they are named for jewel stones. Top left, is that a biscuit - the namesake of Biscuit Basin? A 1959 earthquake destroyed the originals. This one, sitting in a pool of mineral water may be growing beyond biscuit size - it,s about 18 inches long. Erosion may shrink it to the right size.
