Soda Butte and Creek
Yellowstone National Park
Farther up the Northeast Entrance Road you see a strange mound on the right - Soda Butte. This travertine mound formed over 100 years ago. The small hydrothermal water and hydrogen sulfide spring, nearby, no longer has much water. Soda Butte Creek flows toward the Lamar River, above. Abiathar Peak and Amphitheater Mt are in the background.
