Prior to the wet winter and spring of 2023, I photographed few salsify plants. Thanks to an accommodating environment, salsify plants established themselves where past seed puffs had done their jobs. These members of the dandelion family don't spend face time with the sun. They open in early light and conclude their floral show by midday. A week or two after an exuberant floral display, they close shop. After several days a radiant seed vendor emerges.
