This
3.6 round-trip trek is classified as strenuous and an almost continuously
rising path to the top. The scenery is worth every step. Hikers can
rest frequently while being rewarded with colorful flora and/or striking
landscapes. The paved walkway along the lake rim, east of Crater Lake
Lodge leads to the Garfield Peak Trailhead. Views of Wizard Island
appear through the trees along the walkway, right. The interpretive
sign, above, marks the beginning of the trail. Looking back from the
first switchback, Crater Lake Lodge stands in the background , top
right. That's not a plane, or a bird- it's a dragonfly that buzzes
off at the top left corner of the photo. |
