The
hazy day cut visibility somewhat from the summit that day; however,
the scene was still impressive from this 8749 foot peak, the highest
in Texas. Counter clockwise from top left: El Capitan's back looms
up beside the summit marker; the view across the desert, northwest;
and a lively group of climbers join me at the peak. From their conversations
over lunch, I surmised they had conquered higher peaks than this,
but were still delighted to have made this trek to the top of Texas. |
