The
Pinery Station is one of several historical structures in Guadalupe
Mountains National Park. It's easy to walk to, from the visitor center,
along a wheelchair-accessible trail. It's a 3/4 mile round trip with
many labeled desert plants along the way. You can also start at the
other end of the trail, top right, by driving a mile west from the
visitor center on Hwy 62/180. Top left, the paved trail ends at the
ruins, but you can continue on a gravel path to the other side and
then on to an adjoining structure. The illustrations and text are
from an interpretive sign at the main ruin. |
