| Several
years ago I took an overnight trip to The Bowl. You have to carry
your own water. The 81/2 mile round trip from the Pine Springs Campground
can be accomplished with a day hike for the physically fit. I wanted
to spend time photographing the Bowl forest. The wind was so strong
at The Bowl I could barely stand, let alone hold a camera steady.
The top left image; northwest into Pine Springs Canyon from the Tejas
Trail climbing up to The Bowl. Top right, Bear Canyon, climbing down
from The Bowl. The loop consists of: Tejas Trail, Bowl Trail, Bear
Canyon, and the Frijole Trail back to the Pine Springs Campground.
