McDonald Creek Overlook is about a mile west of the Avalanche Creek
parking lot on the Sun Road. The road follows McDonald Creek nearly
to the east end of the lake, above. Before reaching that point, a
large turnout affords views of McDonald Creek and Falls from above
(the three other large photos). These were shot in late September,
so the flow isn't as turbulent as it might be earlier in the year.
In other words, come early for the white water. The rock pattern,
directly above, appears at the west end of Lake Mcdonald. |
