Fall
colors, and late flowers vie for the hiker's attention along the Virginia
Falls Trail. The trail climbs a couple hundred feet in the 7/10ths
of a mile from Saint Mary to Virginia Falls. I continued up the trail
a bit to get a look at Virginia Creek above the falls. It tumbles
over a red rock bed, above, and cascades down several layers of rock
slabs before reaching the vertical pitch of the falls, left. |
