High Sierra
Woods Creek, a major east-west stream in Kings Canyon National Park, flows from Woods Lake, a few miles west of Sawmill Pass. The pass is accessible from the Owens Valley, north of the town of Independence. The Woods Creek Trail follows the rippling and cascading course as it descends 3,000 ft to the South Fork Kings River.
