Two typical falls seen throughout the High Sierra are; short drops, down wide rock faces allowing the river run to fan over the rocks, top left, or charge down the center, over the rocks, right. The other type plunges over precipices, sometimes dropping a number of feet before leveling into a stream. It may even drop several times.
