Longer breaks from the trail during the day's trek are rare, but
rewarding, especially when one is available at a spectacular Sierra
scene. Wilderness skills training is the main focus of the regimen;
however, time to contemplate the surroundings, and maybe meditate
a moment, fits right in with Center for Wilderness Studies philosophy.
If the trail gets rough and rocky, and you wonder "why in hell
am I doing this?" a quiet time to enjoy such a place is the
answer.
