Joshua
Tree National Park provides hiking and rock climbing activities throughout
the park. Its area spreads across the southern Mojave Desert, through
a transition zone, to the Colorado Desert sector of the Sonoran Desert,
covering 792,510 acres. The majority of the park is designated as
wilderness, This unique geographic location also supports a wide variety
of desert plants and animals. The Park can be accessed from CA HWY
62 in Joshua Tree and Twentynine Palms. On the south side, I-10, east
of Indio, at Exit 168, takes you into the park. |
