Heading
north from Horseshoe Lake, the trail hugs Grassy Creek for 2.5 miles,
hence my unofficial name for this section. The creek meanders about
3.5 miles through meadow and forest from Horseshoe Lake to Snag Lake.
Juniper and Horseshoe Lakes have small campgrounds from which you
can explore the area on day hikes. A 1.4 hike from Juniper is necessary
to stay at the primitive campground at Horseshoe. Snag Lake has back
country permit camping only. |
