Late afternoon shade lends a silver glow
to lakeside deadfall. A Snag Lake rock sports a miniature garden.
A deer feeds quietly near Kings Creek. These are some of the experiences
to be enjoyed and photographed while day hiking and backpacking
in Lassen Volcanic National Park. The Pacific Crest Trail passes
through here on its way to Oregon, Washington, and the Canadian
border. Other trails can be accessed from all corners of the park.
To explore farther east, continue to the next page - to the Snag/Butte
Lake trail and head north to Cinder Cone and Butte Lake.
