The newest park visitor center ( maybe a year old ?) appropriately sports a local Native American Name. Along with the usual gift shop and snack bar, the center includes a cutting edge computer search engine, top right. It also includes informational displays, above. This one supplied information I wasn't aware of. Thirty years of visiting and I didn't know this formation was named Vulcan's Eye. The Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center greets visitors at the southwest entrance on California HWY 89.
