Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center
		The walkways around the exterior of the visitor center are lined with a number of aluminum plaques explaining the volcanic activity in the immediate area. This phenomenon, and a series of other volcanic explosions, as late as 1915, gave "volcanic" an important place in the title: Lassen Volcanic National Park. The public took notice and the area was designated a national park in 1916.
