Mill Creek Falls-Kings Creek Falls
This is a major trail out of Southwest Campground at Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center, popular with day hikers. The trail crosses Mill Creek Falls, left, at the 1.7 mi. point. It crosses Bumpass Creek at Conrad Meadows, at 2.4 mi. Crumbaugh Lake appears a mile later (at 3.4mi) after a stroll through the forest. Cold Boiling Lake is a mile past Crumbaugh, 4.4mi from the trailhead at Southwest Campground. From here, it's a short downhill jaunt to Kings Creek Picnic Area (0.7mi.) 5.1 mi. from the trailhead. A 0.3mi. trail follows along Kings Creek to Lassen Volcanic National Park Highway (CA HWY 89). A half mile walk along the roadside, following Kings Creek, brings you to Kings Creek Trailhead, 5.9mi. from Southwest Campground Trailhead. A 0.7mi. gradual descent passes Kings Creek Cascades; The falls, right, are 0.6mi. below the Cascades. For photos of the cascades and falls go to lsnw2and the 4 following pages.
