Cascade Pass Trail

Returning toward Cascade Pass, Magic Mountain appears, under a cloud, to the southwest, above. Yawning Glacier descends between it and Pelton Peak, partially in the photo. Both peaks, and the glacier, are visible from the top of the pass ( see previous page ). Below left is a view toward Cascade Pass just east of it. The trail follows along the top of the talus area at the right in the image. Indian Paintbrush is another ubiquitous flower along the east Cascade Pass trail. There are many opportunities to photograph this flower as well as Tiger Lillies and Monkey Flowers here (see next page).

I turned back to the pass at Cottonwood Campground. Continuing southeast down the trail would take you to Lake Chelan. The trail also crosses the Pacific Crest Trail which continues northeast to the Canadian border.
