you reach the pass, the grand view, above, awaits. Usually a ranger
is present to answer questions about the area and talk about the park
in general. The valley below is a typical U shaped glacial valley.
Pelton Peak is the farther mountain with Yawning Glacier on its shoulder.
Magic Mountain is the closer peak. Cascade Pass trail continues down
the valley ( see map ). Eventually the trail traverses a ridge, out
of Pelton Basin, right, and follows the Stehekin River southeast.
