Day four
- a week of great hiking weather ahead. I left the South Mowich River
shelter with dry gear, thanks to non-leaky areas in the shelter. As
I climbed, gradually from 2600ft elevation at South Mowich River to
5000ft Golden Lakes, the grand sight of Mt Rainier appeared through
the parting clouds. I viewed and photographed its changing facets
for the next seven days. The Golden Lakes looks east at the northwest
face of 14410ft Mount Rainier in all its glorious light. |
