I
was relieved to see the shelter was not in as bad condition as the
Mowich Lake ranger had thought. There were several leaks, but there
was a dry area on one side. I set up my tent there. The opposite wall
had no drips, so I could dry some gear there. There was enough room
in front of my tent to set up my stove and cook a nutritious, warm
meal. It was a great break. I had been in rain for three days and
nights by now - I know that's typical this time of year, but it helped
to get somewhat dried out before moving on. I didn't dwell on the
climb to Golden Lakes I would face tomorrow - just appreciated what
I had that night. |
