Taboose Pass (11,352ft): Small lakes on the pass display aspects
of snow, top left; snow towers 10 feet above the lake level. A six
foot tall hiker feels small beneath the white wall. Left, an opening
below a granite cliff reveals the intense blue of pure snow-melt.
Hidden in shadow most of the day, snow has little chance of dissolving.
Right side images; other Sierra areas' snow and ice.
