The
two houses, right, are part of "Silk Stocking Row," a term
for the more plush housing. The bunglow style houses sit along the
south side of the original street where they were constructed in 1920.
The "Pansy House," above, named for the dishwashers living
there, was built in the mid-1930's. It houses families now. I included
the transmission tower as a symbol of the town's existence. Because
it is a working town, all buildings are well maintained. Some no longer
serve their original purpose - the Mess Hall is a storage building-
but history is intact. |
