Aspenglen Campground

Aspenglen Campground, just past Estes Park, makes a convenient base camp. There are no stores or restaurants within the park, and the visitor centers are just inside the park border - except for Alpine on Trail Ridge Road on the west side of the park. Alpenglen is close enough to Estes Park to run in and purchase needed supplies. The tradeoff is a drive to other parts of the park or to Park & Ride shuttle busses. The busses run south to Bear Lake and north to Moraine Park. Aspenglen lies between two beautiful peaks: Deer Mtn, top, and Sheep Mtn, left. Photos are scanned 35mm slides.
