Indian Bar Camp
to
White River Camp
North of Summerland the trail curves east, following Fryingpan Creek, for a mile. Then it adjusts northeast to skirt Goat Island Mt. Colorful shrubs returns to the trail as it drops below 5000ft; about the same elevation as I encountered them near Indian Bar. The fall season hovered just below 5000ft here in mid-September. At 5.7 miles from Summerland , the trail turns northwest to meet White River, and the road to the White River Ranger Station. Hikers can still follow the trail, by the road, to the White River Campground.
